She is seen walking down the streets with a boy, a man who stars as her husband, and a little girl in a stroller. In another snap, Karlie looks sexy wearing an oversized knitted sweater and a black leather mini skirt as she carries a big leather handbag.
Though Gigi and Karlie looked fabulous in the photos for the new campaign, some fans are not happy with the fact that Versace cast the former as a mother of two. They thought it’s better if the brand hired a model who actually has children.
One Twitter user said, “why didn’t they get Jourdan Dunn to do the mom campaign because she’s actually a mom,” while another wrote, “Please don’t even try me today with Gigi being a MOM in that Versace ad. I am not clear on.”
Some other fans called out the brand after they noticed that Gigi’s black daughter appears to be restrained by a chain in her stroller. “Take this ad down Versace, it’s embarrassing. SMH. This entire ad focuses on the token fair skinned mother. Both child and father looking at her in awe. Minorities are severely underrepresented in the industry and when in ads, they’re almost ALWAYS depicted in the shadow of an elite fair skinned model,” an Instagram user captioned one of the photos from the campaign which he uploaded on his own account.
